Autism diagnosis is facing setbacks due to a tiresome waitlist that prolongs diagnosis by years. New diagnostic tools have been made, but very few have been implemented long-term to evaluate its impact on the timeline. UF implemented the CARS-2 evaluation instead of the standard ADOS-2 and compared, retrospectively, the wait times for children from the day referred for a diagnosis until the day the initial evaluation is conducted.
